This note is continued from Using Textures from Filter Forge in Artlantis - Part I, to explain how you can make use of the Filter Forge's texture maps in Artlantis. You will be shown how to create Artlantis Shader (xsh file) out of those textures and maps (there are 3785 textures up to now!). You can then render your model with those created shader.

Step 4: Open Model in Artlantis Studio

1. Open the model and switch Shader inspector.

2. Click the geometry that you want to apply the shader to.

3. From the Tools menu, choose Create Shader From...

Step 5: Create Shader

You have prepared the textures 5877_d.jpg, 5877_b.jpg and 5877_n.jpg from the part I. You will use those textures in creating shader called 5877.xsh.
Some Advice for you:
    • Put all the textures and shader into same place.

    • Use the Artlantis naming convention to name the maps like *_d.jpg for diffuse map, *_b.jpg for bump map and *_n.jpg for normal map. If you don't, Artlantis will duplicate the jpg using the naming method and you will get 2 same picture but different name on each map

1. Double-click the Preview white box and load 5877_d.jpg.

Note: I have no preview picture for this shader, so i borrow diffuse map picture. After creating the shader, Artlantis will create a jpg file called 5877_p.jpg.

2. Double-click the Diffuse Map white box and load 5877_d.jpg.

3. Double-click the Bump Map white box and load 5877_b.jpg. Drag the default value to full.

4. Double-click the Normal Map white box and load 5877_n.jpg. Drag the default value to full.

5. Click Create Shader button.

Note: Save As dialog box appears.

6. Save the Shader file as 5877.xsh.

Notice that the geometry in the model shown in the Preview Window has been 'skinned' with the tiles i.e. 5877 shader. You can then adjust the size of the tile and position the tile accordingly (will not be discussed in this Note).

7. You can then render the model (will not be discussed in this Note).
