This is a continue from Tutorial "Rendering AutoCAD files - Part I"

 

10. You will merge the bottle geometry from another AutoCAD file, i.e. C11_0320.dwg. Before you do that, you will reposition the origin of the Artlantis file, so that the merged object will NOT intersect with the glass object.

 

Open up Scene dialog box. From the Windows, choose Scene Informations

Under the Coordinates section, set the X and Y as 0.05m. Then click OK.

11. Merge bottle geometry from AutoCAD file C11_0320.dwg.

 

From the File Menu, choose Merge Geometry from file, then choose C11_0320.dwg.

 

Click Open.

Note: The C11_0320.dwg is merged into model.

12. Same like glass, the surface is not smooth after import. So, increase smoothness of the bottle.

 

Switch to Shader Inspector, in the View List, choose the bottle material (C11_0320). Under the Material ID parameters section, set the Smoothness to maximum.

13. Apply China shader to the bottle material (C11_0320).

 

In the Catalog Window, navigate to the Shaders > a Surface folder, and drag China shader to the C11_0320 item in the View List.

Note: Use China Shader so that the bottle is looked like porcelain material.

Note: Drop the China Shader into the targeted bottle.

Note: To ensure you choose the right object, before you drop the shader on the List, pause a while, the targetted object will be highlighted in the Render Window. See the screenshot below.

In the Shader Inspector, set the Color value to dark green (R 0, G 76, B 0). Set the Reflection to 0.58. Set the Shininess to 25.

14. Position the light and turn on shadow.

 

Switch to Light Inspector, turn on shadow.

 

Open 2D Window and adjust the light position as shown.

15. Switch to Shader Inspector. Create a new layer in the View List.

Choose a brown color.

Note: Click "Duplicate the Selected Item" button

Note: A new layer is created. Please understand that there is no object insider that layer.

Note: Select a brown color for that layer.

16. Turn on Polygon selection tool. Choose Objects as the selection method.

 

Note: A-Polygon Selection Tool. B-Object Selection Method, C-Apply the selected material to the current layer

Click the cover of the bottle.

 

Note: You will see it is highlighted with white color.

Click Apply the selected material to the current layer button. Click Yes when prompted with warning message.

Note: The cover is assigned to new layer. Changed to brown color.

17. Add Wine logo to the bottle.

Select the layer that contains the bottle object.

Click Add Texture button.

Browse the Wine logo. Adjust the size of the Wine logo. Choose Orthogonal wrapping method. Position the photo.
